Delighted to tell you that my graphic memoir The Wolf of Baghdad has been long listed for Myriad Editions First Graphic Novel Competition. I am honoured to be on the list of submissions which you can see here. I submitted the first 30 pages of the work in progress earlier in the year and the long list was announced this week.
Meanwhile I have just sent in my Arts Council England application for funding to complete The Wolf of Baghdad project this year. Wish me luck!

Wonderful news, richly deserved. Lovely artwork I keep seeing (tho’ I’m still way behind with reading…I look forward to doing that properly). Best wishes with further developments. R & L.

Carol…I love the idea of superimposing historical ghost-like figures on recent ones. I wondered if that is a reality we cannot perceive like the reincarnation of previous life. Beautiful concept.

Thanks Al. Someone said that even if we could go back to Iraq it would be as Jewish ghosts. That got me thinking about how I could portray my family and the inhabitants of Baghdad past.
